FAQ

  • Is The Color Safe?
The color is non-toxic cornstarch but as with any product you won't want it in your eyes. The volunteers will be instructed on how to throw the color but some runners choose to wear sunglasses or goggles and some choose to wear a bandana over their mouth while color is being thrown. If you have any concerns please consult with your doctor.
  • Can I Bring A Stroller
Yes! You can bring a stroller, wagon, baby carrier or whatever you choose. Just keep in mind that it will get color on it. It may get ruined so we recommend either covering it with plastic or bringing an old stroller you don't care about.
  • What If I Have Allergies/Asthma?
If you have allergies to corn starch we recommend you stay away. The color is made from corn starch. If you have asthma you may want to take caution, bring an inhaler and/or consult with your doctor.
  • Can I Bring My Dog Or Pet?
Unfortunately you can't. We love your pets and for their safety they are not allowed. Please leave them home. Service animals are ok if you have paperwork.
  • What Do I Wear?
Wear white clothes or light colored clothing. The color will show up better on white clothing. The color will soak through to any under clothing you have on. Please feel free to come in costume, tutus, or anything fun and colorful way you'd like to express yourself.
  • Does The Color Come Out?
The powdered color is washable and will come off your skin but will stain clothing. It will also soak through onto underclothing and stain them as well. Denim is the worst to wear as it will not wash out of denim. Please wear clothing that you know will get ruined.
  • Can My Family And Friends Come Watch?
YES! We would love to have them there. There will be additional color packs to throw for purchase. Tell them to come help add some color to the party. There will also be food trucks. It will be a fun family environment. We just ask that those watching stay off the course to protect those running.
  • What Time Should I Arrive?
Packet pick-up will start at 5pm and go until 5:45. There will be long lines for check in so plan on being early. Warm up will start at 5:30 before the Kiddie Color Run.
  • Where Do I Park?
The front of the school has minimal parking but there is a church next door with plenty of parking. Please obey parking laws and do not block driveways, fire lanes or park in any unmarked spots.
  • What Does The Money Go Toward?
Canyon Crest is always looking to make improvements. We want top notch education, the best teachers and staff and parents & students who feel supported. As a PTA we strive to accomplish all of this. Please visit our PTA Fun page for more information on where funds go and how they are used. Or, please feel free to email us with any questions.
  • What If There Is Bad Weather?
Rain just brightens the color so the race will go on! We will be cautious of dangerous circumstances such as lightning and will notify runners of changes as soon as possible.
  • How Can I Donate Directly To This Cause?
Canyon Crest will take any and all donations. They can be made in the form of money, items or volunteers. We have a committe that is working on seeing this through. If you know of anyone (or any company) that would like to help us "Be Prepared" please reach out to us. There is a place to donate on the Home page if you choose not to participate in the Color Run. If you would like to donate please email us @ ptacanyoncrest@gmail.com If you are a company that would like to donate, you can donate through the Provo City School District Foundation.
